“For Her” – a collective voice against abuse and violence on women in society by Pillai students’
Mahatma Education Society’s Pillai Group of Institutions proudly presents “For Her” an initiative undertaken by the students’ of the Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai Campus to raise a collective voice against abuse and violence on women in society.
As a part of this initiative, the students’ organized a blindfolded rally on Independence Day i.e. 15th August, 2013. The rally started at 10 a.m. from Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai Campus, Sector 16, New Panvel. The rally went through the populated areas near the College Campus upto Panvel Station and back. Through this rally, the students’ appealed to the masses to fight for a society which is safe for a woman to walk around at any time without any fear. The blindfold is a symbolic gesture to signify an environment in which women feel secure always.
Some of the other activities planned as a part of “For Her” in the next few months is a poster competition and launch of a desk calendar which will be designed by the students themselves.
