  • European Study Tour
    A group of students from MES degree colleges of Management and Mechanical, Automobiles and Electronics Engineering travelled to Italy, France, Switzerland and Spain in June 2016.     The Pillai Group of Institutions has been in the forefront in creating strong global collaborative links to enhance management education in India. The collaboration with St. Mary’s College of Business and Economics was established in 2006 and they have hosted six groups of Pillai students who visit the US every year to learn about American business culture and strategy. The visit of the US students to India to learn the business strategies and management practices clearly indicates the contribution and emerging role of India in shaping the future of the world. Alegría – The Festival of Joy

The Pillai Group of Institutions exciting inter collegiate event, Alegria – The Festival of Joy, has easily become one of the largest collegiate festivals of India attracting a footfall of over 40,000 people every year. Since its launch in the beginning of 2013, Alegria has become one of Mumbai’s much awaited events with star studded celebrity appearances, mind-blowing musical performances and innovative line up of competitive student aimed events that unleash the hidden talent and creativity of the youth.

The festival has witnessed celebrity appearances by popular actors Jackky Bhagnani, Ran Vijay Singh, Elli Avram, Chandrachur Singh, Sudhanshu Pandey, Nikhil Diwedi and Rayo Bhakirta, former Miss India World’s Rakul Preet Singh and Parvati Omanakuttan, award winning sports personalities Bhaichung Bhutia, Ashwini Ponnappa and body builder Murali Kumar, acclaimed artistes Sudha Chandran and Vaibhav Ghatge, MTV personalities VJ Jose and Imam Siddique, RJ’s Suresh Menon, Adda, DJ’s Rink and Dev and novelists Murzban Shroff and Neeta Shah, poet Mustansir Dalvi.

The most exciting part of the festivals have been the sensational music performances by the likes of Yo Yo Honey Singh, Bollywood superstar Farhan Akhtar, DJ Suketu and international artistes like the award-winning Romanian pop band Akcent, tomorrow land’s resident DJ Yves V & DJ Allure who have each attracted audiences of over 8000 students.

The festival included Community Service Day, a truly remarkable day on which the whole of the M.E.S. family gave back to the community by organizing activities and events for more than 750 members of different NGO’s.

Alegria promises to be bigger, better and more exciting as the years roll by……

Distance Education – IGNOU Study Centre : 1632, New Panvel

Since 2002, Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai Campus is a recognized Study Centre for Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). Counselling Sessions are conducted at the Study Centre to the prospective learners preferably on weekends. The Counsellors are well qualified having Industry / Teaching experience as per the University norms.

Admission to IGNOU programmes are carried out twice a year, in January and July, for which advertisements are placed in newspapers at the appropriate time. Admission forms can also be downloaded from the national website www.ignou.ac.in
