Community Service Day 2013
The Pillai Group of Institutions celebrated Community Service Day on 2nd February, 2013 from 12.30 p.m. onwards at Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai Campus on a large scale reaching out to many underprivileged people. All the 48 institutions were grouped into twenty groups and each group invited residents of different NGO’s to celebrate the day. Around 700 residents from various orphanages, old age homes, tribal children, street children, destitute etc. visited the Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai Campus and were treated to a day of fun, food and frolic. The day kick-started with a sumptuous meal offered to our guests after which our students displayed a wonderful musical concert for them. After the concert many fun activities were organised by each College / Institution for their respective invited NGO’s. There were games, dance, music, art, drama etc. Snacks and tea along with a gift was given to them before the end of this memorable day. Dr. Pia Keiding, Vice President of Soroptimist International, Brussels was the Chief Guest.

This day will be etched in the minds of our students and teachers for many years to come because of the wonderful experience that each one had. Our Institutions will continue to stay connected with these organisations and continue to nurture them at an institutional level year after year to improve the quality of life of their clients.
